壽險公司設計保單利率時，通常會參考責任準備金提存利率。目前金管會是以公債殖利率作為保單收益率的基準，惟近幾年來，公債殖利率節節下降，以致壽險公司必須提存的責任準備金增加，保費也得跟著提高。
